Congratulations to Yellow Bird client The OHMI Trust who, following selection for a BBC Radio 4 Charity appeal, raised an incredible £11,181. The much-needed injection of cash will help match disabled musicians with the adapted musical instruments and enabling equipment they need to play what they want to play, where they want to play – be it at school, home, in a private music lesson or professional ensemble. The appeal has helped to significantly raise this small charity’s profile at national level and enabled it to purchase the new instruments and equipment needed to cancel out its Instrument Hire Scheme waiting list.

The BBC Radio 4 Appeal was broadcast on 28th January 2024 and was voiced by Tom Shakespeare, a social scientist, bioethicist and leading voice on disability issues. You can listen to OHMI’s BBC Radio 4 Appeal here.

Yellow Bird has been OHMI’s outsourced marketing support since 2020. Activities – all of which have been undertaken to help increase donations – have included a root and branch update of its website, feature articles for the national press, building a database of stakeholder contacts, 90-day content plans and more effective storytelling through case studies.
